J. Keith Killian

J. Keith Killian

Managing Shareholder

I have devoted my law practice to advocating for victims with serious injuries. Since establishing Killian, Davis & Richter, PC in 1991, the law firm has been honored to represent Western Slope clients and their families. Our mission is to treat each client with respect, integrity, and unwavering passion. We stand beside those who need a true advocate, while offering honest and compassionate guidance.

Background & Experience

The firm’s practice has been primarily focused on motor vehicle collisions, premises liability and workers’ compensation cases. However, we also represent clients who were harmed by civil rights violations, catastrophic propane explosions/fires, toxic chemical exposure, or radiation exposure due to uranium mining, milling, ore hauling, and processing (RECA). We have obtained great results in semi-truck accidents.  We continue to represent injured workers and the survivors of those who died in oil field, coal mine, and hydrocarbon incidents.

Before founding the firm, I served as a Judge Advocate (JAG) in the U.S. Air Force, performing both criminal prosecution, criminal defense, international law and discharge boards. I was employed as a Colorado State Public Defender and later in a firm that worked for insurance companies. My early career gave me a great deal of trial experience and shaped my commitment to standing up for those facing life-altering injuries and their families.

My Approach to Clients

I take time to get to know my client and understand each client’s situation. I enjoy getting to know my client’s families, sharing a laugh when it is appropriate, and building genuine long-term relationships. Connecting with clients on a personal level strengthens my resolve. This personal connection also energizes the labor of my staff, which is necessary to secure the best possible outcome for each person we represent.
